WHOS Survey Results 2023-24
Westy Dog Park Guardians has analyzed results from three surveys conducted in 2023-24 by City of Westminster Parks, Recreation, Libraries and Open Space (PRLO). The results from aggregated data detailed below:
Cumulative Opinion Result/Average of 3 City Surveys supporting off-leash as is: 79.35%
Total signatures on Change.org 60-day petition supporting 420 acres off-leash access: 6,167
Survey #1 — Completed Summer 2023
Question:
“Please Indicate How You Would Feel About These Potential Management Options:
Decreasing the size of the off-leash dog area.”
Results:
- Extremely dissatisfied/dissatisfied: 70%
- Supportive/extremely supportive: 17%
- Neutral: 13%
Survey #2 — Completed February 2024
“Please Provide Your Comments Regarding the Westminster Hills Open Space”
Results from 883 responses as categorized by PRLO Director:
- No change to the size of the off-leash area: 89.8%
- Off-leash area larger than 33 acres but smaller than 400 acres: 2.7%
- Conditions assessment recommendation of reducing off leash area to 33 acres: 2.8%
- Eliminate off-leash at WHOS and create more off-leash dog parks throughout the city: 2.5%
- N/A: 2.2%

Results from 1080 responses:
No change to the size of the off-leash area

- Dissatisfied/Extremely Dissatisfied: 17.57%
- Neutral: 4.18%
